Big ships could not come close to shore without running aground, so they carried boats like this one to reach the beach, look for fresh water and load supplies. The barrels did not carry gold but something far more valuable: drinking water, which ran out at sea before the food did. The boat lies beached on the sand, two oars crossed over it, three stacked barrels and a folded net inside. Color the planks light brown with the seams a shade darker, the barrels brown with grey hoops, the net beige and the sand pale yellow. The shells and the starfish welcome pinks and oranges.
