Mango is the most eaten fruit on the planet, well ahead of apples or bananas, and it belongs to the same family as the pistachio. In India it has been grown for more than four thousand years and is treated there as a symbol of friendship. This page shows two mangoes hanging from a branch with long narrow leaves, and one cut open beside them showing the flat pit inside. The skin is the most enjoyable part to color: blend a gradient that starts green at the tip, moves through yellow and finishes in a deep red where the sun struck it. Use a strong orange for the flesh and dark green for the leaves.
