About Rose and Lily Coloring Page for Ages 6 and Up

Placing a rose and a lily in the same drawing puts two quite different petal shapes side by side. The rose builds up in rounded layers that curl in on themselves, while the lily's petals are long and end up curving backward, almost as if they wanted to touch the stem. That difference in shape is a good excuse to use two separate families of shades, one for each flower, instead of repeating the same color on both. At the center of the lily, long thin filaments usually poke out, and they are worth working with a steady hand, since any shake shows on lines that fine. If you are not sure where to start, try the flower with large shapes first and leave small details, like those filaments, for the very end.
