Jigsaw Puzzle: puzzles with real interlocking pieces
Drag each piece to its place and watch the picture come together. The pieces have tabs, just like cardboard ones, and snap in when they get close.
Every picture can be built with 6, 12 or 24 pieces, chosen with one tap without leaving the page. Six pieces is a great start at ages 2 or 3; twenty-four is a solid challenge from age 6.
What your child practices
- Spatial perception: looking back and forth between piece and gap trains part-whole thinking.
- Fine motor skills: dragging with a finger or mouse and releasing on target sharpens precision.
- Sustained attention: a 24-piece puzzle invites staying with one task for several minutes.
- Frustration tolerance: a piece that does not fit can be tried again, with no penalty and no timer.
Frequently asked questions
What age is this for?
Kids aged 2 and 3 can solve the 6-piece version. Twelve pieces works well at 4 to 5, and 24 from age 6.
Is progress saved if I close the page?
Yes. The pieces already placed are saved in the browser for that picture and piece count, so you can come back to it later.
How is this different from the other puzzle game?
Here the pieces have interlocking tabs and are dragged into place. In the classic one the pieces are square and you swap them two at a time.
Does it work on tablets and phones?
Yes, it is built for touch screens first: pieces are scaled up in the tray so they are easy to grab with a finger.
Every picture is free and plays right in the browser, with nothing to install.
