Puppies are born deaf and with their eyes shut: only at around two weeks do they start to see and hear the world. Labradors also hide a surprise between their toes, a thin webbing that makes them excellent swimmers, because they were bred to help fishermen pull nets out of icy water. This puppy sits facing you, with floppy ears and its front paws planted firmly. Labradors come in three colors, so you can choose: pale gold with a brown nose, solid chocolate, or black with slightly lighter eyes. The tongue is always pink and the paw pads a greyish rose.
