An elephant's trunk has about forty thousand muscles, more than a whole human body put together, and calves take months to learn to control it: at first they drag it along, step on it by accident and even suck it like a pacifier to calm themselves down. A grown elephant will use that same trunk to drink, to greet its family and to pick up something as small as a single leaf. This baby walks in profile with its trunk curled upwards, big rounded ears and clearly drawn skin folds among tufts of tall grass. Color it medium grey, with the inside of the ears slightly pinker, the skin folds in a darker grey and the grass in two different greens.
