The goalkeeper is the only player allowed to touch the ball with their hands, and only inside their own area. It was not always so: until 1912 a keeper could catch it anywhere on the pitch, even in the opposition half, and the rule had to change because the game became impossible. They are also the only player required to wear a color different from everyone else, so the referee can pick them out at a glance. Here the keeper flies sideways with both arms stretched towards the ball. Make the most of that rule and go loud: neon green or orange, gloves in another shade, and a very pale grey for the net.
