About Steam Train Coloring Page to Print Free

The white cloud pouring from a steam locomotive's chimney is not smoke at all: it is water vapor. Inside, a coal or wood fire boils the water in the boiler, and that steam pushes the pistons that turn the wheels. On this page the locomotive rolls along curved tracks pulling two carriages, with rolling hills and a tree in the distance. Black is the historic color for these machines, though many carried red or gold details on their wheels and trim. The carriages look good in dark green or deep burgundy, the sleepers in a grayish brown, and the steam in a very pale gray, almost white, so it still feels light and airy.
