Scarecrows have been around for more than three thousand years: farmers in ancient Egypt and Japan already used them to protect their crops. The funny part is that crows are clever enough to work out the trick within days and end up perching right on top, so farmers have to move the figure around every so often. This one stands in the middle of a cornfield, with a straw hat, a patched shirt and a calm crow on its shoulder. Use golden yellow for the straw and the corn, red checks on the shirt, faded blue for the trousers, orange for the pumpkins and a black with bluish sheen for the crow.
