Emperor penguins have a brilliant trick for surviving the cold: they huddle in enormous groups and slowly rotate, so that every bird gets a turn in the warm middle and a turn on the chilly edge. This page shows a penguin standing on the ice in a woolly bobble hat and a striped scarf, with snowflakes drifting down around it. The penguin almost colors itself: black across the back, head and flippers, white on the belly, and a touch of orange-yellow at the neck and beak. Then give the hat and scarf whatever colors you like — the brighter, the better.
